Doug Bainton is an Operational Strategy Consultant with more than 20 years of frontline response, interagency coordination, and operational leadership experience. As a retired FDNY firefighter and former Lead Interagency Coordinator for Manhattan at New York City Emergency Management, he has worked at the intersection of field operations, executive decision-making, and organizational complexity.
His experience spans preparedness, disaster response, critical infrastructure, recovery, and international advisory support. Across those environments, he has consistently helped organizations operate more effectively when coordination, communication, and decision-making mattered most.
Doug has supported national disaster operations; led interagency coordination during New York City’s COVID-19 response; developed Get Alarmed NYC, the nation’s largest home fire safety initiative; supported California wildfire recovery operations; advised utility clients on preparedness and operational resilience; and currently provides international advisory support to the Government of El Salvador on interagency coordination and institutional preparedness.
Through Ironclad Ops, Doug works directly with government agencies, utilities, critical infrastructure organizations, NGOs, and private-sector organizations to assess operations, improve coordination, and identify practical improvements that build on existing capabilities.
